September is not only the month that brings to us the colorful majesty of God?s natural beauty-Autumn- it is also the awareness month for childhood cancer. I encourage you all to get on the American Childhood Cancer Organization?s website and discover how you can help fight this dreaded disease. http://www.acco.org/Home.aspx
According to the ACCO website, approximately 13,000 children are diagnosed with cancer annually and sadly one fourth of them will not survive. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation reports that the number of children who are diagnosed with brain tumors each year is approximately 4200. That?s 11.5 children each day! My precious daughter was one of them! To find out more facts about childhood brain tumors visit this website http://www.pbtfus.org/medcomm/research/Pediatric-brain-tumor-facts-updated.html
As the mother of a brain cancer survivor I can attest to the fact that cancer is pure torture on anyone let alone a baby or a child! Because of childhood cancer, my amazing daughter continues to suffer nearly every single day of her life! You can play a part in helping to prevent other children from suffering with cancer and its after effects the way that my daughter has. I have placed a link on my sidebar if you would like to donate to the Childhood Brain Tumor Association. Their homepage can be found at http://www.childhoodbraintumor.org/
I urge you all to check out these websites and see if there is anything that you can do to help wipe out childhood cancer and childhood brain tumors!!
